What your lingerie wants..
Updated: Mar 8
Have you ever wondered how to take care of your lingerie the right way? In fact, if you used the tips provided below, the lingerie you have purchased would gratify you longer.
1st Tip. How to prevent destroying of lace?
Our VENEZIA set. Classic bralette and thongs are made of fine soft black lace.
There are many different types of lace, thus its composition may alter depending on a purpose of use. However, it is useful to bear in mind that lace is extremely delicate fabric.
Lace - that is commonly used in lingerie manufacture - consists mainly of cotton threads and elastane fibres. Those fibres are capable of stretching from four to seven times. However, it is very easy to make elastane lose its properties. High temperatures do this kind of job very well.
Another malicious enemy of lace and any other delicate fabric is bleach. It includes harsh chemicals that destroy material fibres, while whitening them. You definitely don't want your favourite bras, panties and negligees to lose their shape and original colour. So here are THREE DO NOTs to save your lingerie:
DO NOT use bleach to whiten lingerie
DO NOT wash your lingerie in hot water
DO NOT iron your bras and knickers
2nd Tip. Be mindful when you wash it..
First of all, always separate colours! It is better to hand-wash your lingerie.
Make sure the water is less than 30°C.
Use only liquid detergent for delicate fabrics. In fact, there are special lingerie detergents you can find on the market today.
Liquid detergent has special formula that provides gentle wash and prevents fabric decay.
3. Then let your lingerie soak for 15-20 minutes.
4. Gently wash lingerie and rinse with warm and cold water.
If you prefer using machine wash then make sure you choose delicate / handwash programs.
3rd Tip. Dry it right!
We have already mentioned elastane before and its impact on lace and other delicate fabrics used in lingerie manufacture. It is important to remember that drying lingerie on a radiator will also make elastane loose its properties, thus lingerie will loose its shape in the future. So how to dry lingerie?
Gently wring lingerie and place on a towel or something that will absorb the water;
Then let your lingerie dry naturally;
Remember always to read the care labels on your lingerie, especially if it's fine silk or lace.
